So he goes to some memorial in Chennai and then states " Despite the LTTE calling for a ceasefire, the Sri Lankan government has done nothing. Rajapakse has killed so many Tamils. Let him consider me also. I am fasting for the Sri Lankan Tamil cause" and thus the great hero of Sri Lankan Tamils in Tamil Nadu started his farce, a farce unto death as his faithful daughter Kanimozi stated to media.
They say the decision to go on a farce was a spontaneous decision and Karunanidhi did not consult anyone,and of course can you consult any one on this? in your right mind you can't, especially if you had just finished a massive Breakfast in the first place!
To make matters worse DMK President and Karunanidhi's son MK Azhagiri (who is also contesting in election by the way!!) too went on a farce in Madurai saying "I am fasting for the Tamil issue in Sri Lanka in the same way as DMK leader Karunanidhi is doing"... "We will stop this only when there is ceasefire in Sri Lanka where innocent Tamils are being killed," he had further stated.
And then , pronto..some miracle happens..the Government in Sri Lanka 'yealds' to Indian Government pressure 'capitulates' and announce an end to all hostilities.jubilant Indian home Minister P.Chidambaram was heard on NDTV saying something like we didn't pleaded nor request with the Sri Lankan Government but India insisted (?) that war should be stopped and rehabilitation should start...
So according to Indians, the Sri Lankan Government has agreed to stop the war and let the LTTE return to its rightful place as the ruler of all Tamils in Vanni..wow,what a major achievement..but i read the statement of the Govt of SL on this and to my sheer horror finds nothing of sorts just something that says we're going to stop use of heavy weapons,Aerial bombardments,use of jets etc..WTF...was that not stopped last week since troops were more focuses on surgical strikes inside the small territory?
Then i realize...poor basterds were duped by the MR boys!
Anyway, lets forget all that and move back to Karunanidhi's farce..so, just as this 'break through' was announced , the jubilant Karunanidhi realising his efforts, his sole efforts had turned the tables on the Sri Lankana Government and realizing he,single handed had saved the LTTE from brink of decimation and also the realizing the fact that the cause of the Sri Lankan Tamils have been won, got up and ended his farce, just in time for a humongous Lunch!
However, Jayalalitha,leader of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) said the fast is a drama to gain political mileage out of the Sri Lankan Tamil issue and said "I accuse him of staging this drama of fasting just to fool the people..," but we need not listen to her..she had called for a Separate State for Tamils in India or Sri Lanka (not so sure where exactly..) last week..and this drama talk is irrelevant here...
So with that i end my post about the escapades of the great 'champion' of Sri Lankan Tamil people, M Karunanidhi who only today started a farce unto death, just after his Breakfast and ended it just in time for Lunch.....
[P.S- i can't speak for people of Tamil Nadu but as for the Tamil people of Sri Lanka, they have stopped eating such dead 'lanu' long ago..and that's something the leadership of the LTTE has realized recently, in a painful way too! ]

Good one...these Tamil Nadu politicians are a real joke. I've been reading some of the readers' comments in the online editions of the Hindu, Times of India etc on these issues and it seems that most people in TN seem to realise this is all being done for political expediency.
Bloody jokers...the few hours the fellow went without eating probably extended his lifespan a bit!

I like it as it's quite befitting with 'Sun God' as well. There is no much difference of what "Sun God" has been doing with Tamils in SL and how Karunanidi did his fast unto death . The same people whom he claim to have been protecting has been taken for a good ride by him by keeping them as his protection sheild. He never compromised his family and his super luxary lifestyle for so called liberation struggle. Truly, the hyprocarcy of Tamil Nadu politicians and the so called Tamil liberatiors in SL ranging from LTTE to Chelvanayagam is well exposed now. All of them belong to the same breed. Ultimately it's SL Tamils who are at the receving end. For last 30 years they have got nothing but suffering.
Bloody cheat Karunanidhi is! He just changes colors to suit the situation and is the worst person to have as a supporter for any cause, let alone the Tamil one! One day he says "I and my fellow party members will resign if the GoSL doesn't call for a ceasefire!" and when GoSL didn't he just stays mute! What a cheat he is! Regardless of the cause you are supporting, you should stand firm with your opinion and not just change according to the situation!
The former Right Hand of Prabhakaran says to Daily Teligraph the following.
However, if he did get out, "Prabhakaran could find a welcome in the overseas Tamil Diaspora". Colonel Karuna said, "In exile, he could expect to live well. He is a billionaire after stealing money intended for Tamil cause."
Among a many an illegal dealings that these terrorists are engaged with the stolen money, bribing Tamilnadu politicians is also one of them. Karunanidhi is just one of among those scores of them being bribed.
Karuna as well as most of the Sri Lankan Tamils realized well in advance that the "Tamil cause" was a lost cause and the billions of stolen money from Diaspora was an utter waste. Karunanidhi and his fellow gangs from Tamilnadu too know very well this. However, they will go on with "Farce unto deaths" as long as the stolen money flows as the death of Prabhakaran is a death blow to this flow of money. Therefore, at any cost his life should be protected.

Pina - agreed. Karuna may have blood on his hands, but his view matters a lot, specially when he speaks up for the normal tamil people in the int. media.
Karuna is the same as Karunanidhi..though he helped the GoSL defeat the LTTE, he is just talking shit when he says that he knew that TE was a lost cause...he was swindling money from the LTTE coffers, but Prabhakharan didn't believe when the others like Pottu Amman said this...he left because he was scared that he would be found out and slaughtered by the LTTE hierarchy...therefore, don't fall for that swine's words...he is also an opportunist, just like all the SL politicians!
